What I did this Summer...

Well it certainly wasn't maintaining my Blogs updated! You know how it is when your life is going just as planned and all of a sudden everything sort of goes HAYWIRE! Well, that is my summer for you in a nutshell. I don't want to sound like I am complaining because at least we have our health but this year sure has been trying, to say the least.

I wish I could divulge all the details for my absence but I fear someone might actually still read my blogs! Plus its not "that type of blog". I can say that I continue to be a mommy of two really great kids and I am still way too enthusiastic about planning parties. I still hate doing the dishes, I am still obsessed with my blackberry (upgraded this simmer BTW) and I still want to be good at this "bogging thing". So here I go...its time to get back in the water!

LA all by myself....

Interesting day today. Colorful and interesting. Went to down town LA all BY MYSELF. Met with a caterer at Kenneth Hahn Park and then thought I could swing over to down town but I got lost and went the wrong way, it never fails. Checked out a party store called Jokers on Olympic, very inexpensive stuff. I did not find everything I needed but I am glad I checked it out. Met a clown, YES a clown. His name was "Globito el Payasito" for you none Spanish speakers, that means " "Little balloon the clown" sound better in Spanish...kinda'. Anyways I was waiting in line behind him and I complimented him on his shoes. He told me I could getthem in Mexico. I said Oh great! Thank you! Then he said "you know there is a store down the street that has some similar, I can take you if you want." I said "awww...I'm good ...but thanks anyway, Mr. Globito".

Then I headed to the Fashion district....might as well, right?! I picked up few things including a cute new purse and some sandals. The lady helping me almost, ALMOST got me to buy 6 (SIX) different purses. They were VERY cute and although they do run a hard bargain I managed to say no and proceeded to window shop. I found lots of random stuff but was most struck by the MJ memorial t-shirts, that was quick right! I also got a cute little blinged out cupcake pendant for Princess D.

I headed home and got lost, AGAIN. But with luck did not totally run out of gas ( I REALLY hate pumping gas!). Princess P LOVED her pendant. I didn't say anything to her and just put it on her. She said "Mommy..that is Be-uuuutiful...is it for meee?" I said "sure is CUPCAKE" she giggled.

No way! I am supposed to be Vintage Barbie!

So I was on Facebook (FB) recently doing all those silly quiz's where you answer a few questions and all of a sudden you know what kind of Movie is your Life or What your perfect mate is. Well I took the "What Barbie are you quiz". If you haven't noticed I am a bit of a fan

HWHAT! No way! This is so untrue. I am Vintage Barbie!!!I HAVE to be. Okay, maybe there is a little truth to the goodie 2 shoes thing but who are they kidding by claiming these tests are freakishly accurate?

Anyway, I also took some other quiz's and have learned that:

Anyway, I thought I would share my earth shattering new information about myself. I know it changes everything , right? For me too :)

Spending Hia-what?!

So I was cruising a bit tonight, visiting some new blogs. Well not necessarily new, but new to me. You know, just jumping from one to the other. Not really looking for anything in particular but just looking. I stumbled upon this thing called the Spending Hiatus. Have you heard of it? People actually sign up for this?!! I was shocked! Don't get me wrong. I have nothing but respect for anyone who willingly stop spending money on non-essential items for (long pause), just wait for it. Three Months.

I know! Right?!

and to be honest, I did sort of kinda considered it for all of maybe two minutes. But it's just really NOT for me. Not right now at least.

but what do YOU think? Ready to join this movement? I hear they even have a support group!
